Reviews and Ratings
I had a mixed experience at Hotel Pelayo. The location is undoubtedly excellent, just a short walk from Plaza Catalunya and close to major attractions. However, I found the service lacking—especially my encounter with an unfriendly front desk staff. My room was clean but small and a bit outdated, which didn't quite match the higher price point for the area. Overall, I'd say it’s decent for a short stay, but I would look for better options in the future.
Hotel Pelayo's location near Placa de Catalunya is definitely a strong point, making it easy to explore Barcelona. However, my stay was marred by a few downsides, including a somewhat shabby room, thin walls, and a check-in process that felt more like a hostel than a hotel. The breakfast was included, but I skipped it, so I can’t comment on that.
I recently stayed at Hotel Pelayo for a few nights. The location was fantastic, just a short walk from La Rambla and Catalunya Square, which made exploring the city super easy. While my room was tiny and definitely didn't offer the best view, it was clean, if a bit dated, and met my basic needs. However, I did experience some annoying noises from the area, and there were a couple of administrative hiccups during check-in and check-out that marred an otherwise decent stay.
My stay at Hotel Pelayo was a mixed bag. The location was fantastic, being close to many major attractions, but I encountered several issues during my visit. From the administrative errors at check-in and check-out to minor maintenance problems in the room, I left feeling somewhat disappointed. While the friendly staff and cleanliness of the space were highlights, I felt that the overall experience could have been much better.
I had a mixed experience at Hotel Pelayo during my three-night stay. The location was fantastic—just a short walk to La Rambla and Catalunya Square—but the hotel itself felt more like a hostel than a hotel. The room I stayed in was small and a bit dated, with thin walls that made it hard to sleep soundly. While the staff were generally attentive, the check-in process was a bit chaotic. Overall, it met my basic needs, but there are definitely better options available.
